With new rules for Oiltanker (L>150m) coming into force April 1st 2006, also the classification for the successful design of the "19800tdw" Oil chemical tanker had to be passed again. Extensive FEM calculations considering CSR load assumptions and load cases brought some radical changes in steel construction for this vessel.
